Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and professional School Administrator to join our friendly primary school team. This is a key role within the school, providing efficient administrative support to ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the office and contributing to a positive experience for pupils, parents, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the school reception, welcoming visitors, pupils, and parents in a professional manner
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries efficiently
  • Maintain accurate pupil records and update school databases (e.g., attendance, admissions, leavers)
  • Monitor and record daily attendance, following up on absences in line with school procedures
  • Support the admissions process, including processing applications and maintaining waiting lists
  • Assist with the organisation of school events, trips, and meetings
  • Manage correspondence, letters, newsletters, and communications to parents
  • Provide administrative support to the Headteacher and teaching staff
  • Maintain filing systems (both electronic and paper‑based) ensuring confidentiality at all times
  • Handle basic financial administration such as processing invoices, payments, and petty cash
  • Order and manage school supplies and resources

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous administrative experience (school‑based experience desirable)
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management systems (e.g., SIMS, CPOMS – desirable)
  • A professional, approachable, and flexible attitude
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality

Essential Qualifications

  • Maths and English GCSE C and above.
