About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Payroll Services at Lancashire County Council. The service provides payroll to over 40,000 employees for a diverse range of clients which include over 500 schools, district councils, academies and multi-academy trust clients. The role of the Payroll Officer is to support the efficient administration of a quality, accurate and timely payroll, and pensions function in accordance with statutory, legislative, and contractual obligations. You will be part of a supportive team including a team leader and two senior colleagues, who provide a professional payroll service, working to monthly deadlines, and achieving monthly performance targets.

Whilst experience of working within payroll services is not essential, you do need:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Experience of working within a team.
  • Experience of working to deadlines.
