An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Information and Records Management Service within Lancashire County Council.
The Information and Records Management Service has several teams supporting Council departments in managing their data, and this advert is for a Team Leader to work within the Access Team, supporting this function. The IRMS service is responsible for both physical and digital tasks e.g. the digitisation and associated processes of Social Care and Corporate data, managing and auditing the physical holdings of records, investigating and resolving any issues arising via emails and other sources, as well as the sharing of information with third parties following Information Governance rules.
The role involves using specific software to process and update information, as well as the need to be physically able to work in a warehouse environment. We are looking for people with excellent leadership skills, including communication and ICT skills, who are comfortable using a wide range of software systems to help us ensure that statutory and legislative obligations are met. Experience and confidence when leading/managing people is essential.
Our service utilises bespoke records management software along with MS365 and Teams and you will be managing a team of people, so you need to be able to call/video conference, schedule meetings, interrogate systems and simply be able to navigate a laptop and new systems confidently and well.
You will be good at using your initiative and prioritising work when solving problems; therefore, communication and teamwork are key. You will be a go-getter who isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in, as well as motivating others to do the same. This role involves working with sensitive information in line with current legislation. Data protection and information governance is at the heart of what we do.
