We are currently recruiting a Business Support Officer with empathy and the drive to make a difference, finding creative ways to support people to achieve what they want to and live as independently as possible in a place they call their home. We need a permanent, full-time Business Support Officer to work as part of our Adult Services Support Services Team.

This is a hugely exciting time for us. We've launched Living Better Lives in Lancashire – our new strength-based vision for social care. We're driving forward innovative practice that will make a difference to our communities and we need Business Support Officers to help us achieve our vision of supporting people to achieve what they want to, living independently in a place they call their home.

This role is to support Senior Service Managers in Adults, Health and Wellbeing. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the inbox for the senior service managers ensuring that emails are actioned, deadlines are met and managed effectively.
  • Manage the diary and meeting schedule, ensuring the senior managers are forewarned of approaching deadlines, upcoming events and issues affecting schedules.
  • Provide administrative support for meetings, which includes arranging dates, room bookings, preparation of agenda, distribution of papers or taking minutes using technology available.
  • Ensure reports are maintained and kept up to date to meet key deadlines.
  • Organise attendance at training, conferences, travel arrangements in the UK, and accommodation when required for the senior managers and their respective teams.
  • Typing of letters, preparation of presentations, spreadsheets. Including track correspondence and monitoring response times, produce dashboards, chasing teams' members for information and keeping the Senior Service Manager informed of progress.
  • Assist with the collection and collation of statistics, data, financial information, or other management information.
  • Respond to, and resolve where appropriate, telephone, face-to-face, e-mail and postal enquiries generated by the service.
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required by the senior managers or the post holder's line manager.
  • Use professional judgement and critical thinking in the decision-making process.
