Your new role
A Mobile Library Officer to manage Clayton Green Mobile Library. This is a permanent role, and you will work an average of 37 hours per week.
Lancashire Mobile Libraries are a vital service that provides a library service to residents who may not have easy access to our static public libraries. They ensure that people of all ages can access a wide range of books, resources, and reliable information. This fosters community engagement and promotes literacy, making library services more inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of their location.
Your role
- We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who is customer focused and digitally savvy, with the skills to drive and manage a large vehicle.
- Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading, and be passionate about sharing this.
- You will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the confidence to work with a range of partners and volunteers.
You will operate a mobile library offering a high-quality library and information service and you will manage the planning and delivery of a diverse range of events and activities, monitoring performance and stock as you go. You will support and encourage customers to access information and resources, for example accessing free eBooks and newspaper apps or helping someone find reliable information, such as applying for a bus pass.
