About the role

  • Work closely with organisations who support veterans, their families, and other local partners to ensure support is accessible and effective.
  • Collaborate across council departments and stakeholders to drive positive change.
  • Plan, manage, and deliver meaningful projects that make a tangible difference.
  • Ensure our work is communicated to the public and stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.

About You

  • Communicating and engaging – exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships, work well with others, influence and communicate at all levels.
  • Supporting organisations who help veterans and their families to integrate into their communities and mobilising Lancashire's armed forces community to speak with one voice.
  • Working with stakeholders to develop a countywide Armed Forces strategy and action plan to deliver on the council's Covenant commitments.
  • Providing policy support and guidance to the county council's Armed Forces and Veterans Champion.
  • Balancing strategic and operational thinking at the same time with effective project management approaches.
  • Being motivated to make a real impact and take pride in the meaningful work we do.
