We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer focussed and digitally confident individual to join our library teams. Lancashire Libraries are a vital service that provide welcoming, inclusive spaces where people of all ages can connect, learn and feel safe. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting customers with accessing digital resources and information.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of events (e.g., author events, class visits).
  • Engaging with customers to promote reading for pleasure.

You will be appointed to a library base(s), but there will be an expectation that you will work at other libraries as required. Hours of work are listed against the available posts and are a set working pattern over two weeks.

What We’re Looking For

Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this. You will have excellent communication and digital skills, be able to work with a range of stakeholders and be able to deliver a customer focused service.

Interview Process

The interview process will be in two parts:

  • Part 1 – All shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment day. This will last about 1 hr and involve: a meeting with a manager, tour of the library and explanation of duties, work related short assessments.
  • Part 2 – All applicants attending the assessment day will be invited for interview.

Assessment Date: 9 am to 6 pm, 2nd February – Skelmersdale Library

Interview Date: 11th February – Skelmersdale Library

Please note the salary quoted for this position is the full time equivalent. These positions are part time, therefore, the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
