What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting customers with accessing digital resources and information.
  • Supporting in the planning and delivery of events (e.g. author events, class visits).
  • Engaging with customers to promote reading for pleasure.

You will be appointed to a library base(s), but there will be an expectation that you will work at other libraries as required. Hours of work are listed against the available post and are a set working pattern over two weeks. These hours cannot be changed.

The post available is: Garstang Library - 16hpw.

Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this. You will have excellent communication and digital skills, be able to work with a range of stakeholders and be able to deliver a customer focused service.

Interview Process:

The interview process will be in two parts. All shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment day, which will last around an hour. Only applicants successful at the assessment day will then be invited for a formal interview.

Interview 1 (assessment day) – Friday 26th June

  • A meeting with a manager.
  • Tour of the library and explanation of duties.
  • Work related short assessments.

Interview 2 (formal interview) – Thursday 9th July. Please note, these dates are subject to change.

Please note the salary quoted for this position is the full time equivalent. These positions are part time, therefore, the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
