Job Description:

Salary Β£25,185 – Β£25,989 per annum | Permanent, Part Time, various hours | Various locations across Burnley and Pendle | International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship

Are you passionate about reading and enjoy helping others? We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused, and digitally confident individual to join our library teams. Lancashire Libraries provide welcoming, inclusive spaces where people of all ages can connect, learn, and feel safe. What You\’ll Be Doing:

As a Library Assistant, you\’ll support the delivery of a high-quality library and information service, including:

  • Assisting customers with accessing digital resources and information.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of events (e.g., author events, class visits).

You will be based at a library but may work at other libraries as required. Hours of work range from 7 to 37 hours per week. Please see attachments for rotas.

Available positions in Burnley and Pendle include:

  • Pike Hill Library – 18hpw
  • Barnoldswick Library – 15hpw
  • Burnley Campus & Padiham Libraries – 12.5hpw
  • Coal Clough & Brierfield Libraries – 11hpw
  • Burnley Library – 7hpw

This is a part-time position; the salary quoted is full-time equivalent and will be paid on a pro-rata basis. The role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). Successful applicants will need to apply for a DBS disclosure.
