Summary: St Mary’s is a thriving and inclusive Catholic high school committed to academic excellence, strong pastoral care, and the development of the whole person in the light of Gospel values. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, compassionate, and highly motivated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with hearing impairments and to lead the management of pupils’ medication, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with hearing impairments in the classroom.
- Manage pupils’ medication and ensure accurate record keeping and safe administration.
- Provide assistance to teachers in delivering lessons and supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
- Assist with administrative work related to individual educational plans and their implementation.
Essential Qualifications:
- NVQ level 3 or above qualification (or equivalent); in exceptional circumstances qualifications may be viewed as desirable.
- Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.
Essential Experience:
- Experience working with children in a classroom environment.
- Administrative experience.
- Experience with Individual Educational Plans and their implementation.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working with pupils with hearing impairments.
- Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
- Experience managing pupils’ medical needs.
