Contract: Casual

Contracted Hours: Various hours available Monday – Sunday. Typical shift patterns are 09:00-12:00, 09:00-14:00 and 14:00-19:00.

About The Role

The Facilities Management Team at Lancashire County Council are looking to recruit a Casual Cleaning Operative who is required to carry out cleaning duties at Broadfield House. A flexible approach to work is required, as the successful candidate would be required to cover sickness, holidays or provide support to meet additional service demands.

About the Organisation

Lancashire County Council provide vital Residential Care Services to the people of Lancashire. These services provide a safe, secure environment that allows older people as much independence as possible while supporting a range of care needs. The Facilities Management team carry out cleaning and laundry services at all residential Care Homes and Day Centres. Keeping these buildings and personal possessions clean is critically important to everyone who uses these facilities.

Responsibilities

  • General cleaning, such as damp wiping, damp mopping, vacuuming, toilet cleaning, and washroom cleaning.
  • Loading and emptying washing and drying machines, rolling and pressing of laundry items, and storing of laundry items.
  • Cover across multiple Care Homes and Day Centres within a catchment area as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High standards of cleanliness are expected; prior experience is desirable.
  • Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
  • Applicants will be subject to Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Scheme) checks. A formal offer of employment cannot be issued until DBS checks are successfully completed.
