Summary: The Governors of Ryelands Primary School are looking to recruit an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant. You will work as part of our teaching team under the direction of the class teacher. Your main role is to support children at Ryelands Primary School in achieving their very best.

Responsibilities:

  • Join a very successful team of staff
  • Work independently and with initiative under the general supervision of the class teacher to plan and deliver quality learning experiences for the children
  • Support children in their learning through timely interventions
  • Be able to draw upon their knowledge and experience of pupils with special educational needs
  • Be confident, sensitive, reliable and enthusiastic
  • Be able to communicate effectively with children and young people
  • Enjoy a happy and positive team atmosphere and access to high quality CPD

Qualifications:

  • NVQ level 2 or above qualification – appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy

Experience:

  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment
  • Experience of administrative work
  • Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour

Additional Information: The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check and full employment history will be required for this post. This position is part-time, term-time only. The quoted salary is for full-time equivalent; if successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, an online search will be carried out as part of our due-diligence on shortlisted candidates.
