Support Worker Location: Great Harwood – a CQC outstanding service

Contract Type: Permanent

Schedule Type: 1 x 25 hour post

Working Hours: Flexible rota to meet people needs

Salary: Grade 4 £13.47 per hour (pay award pending); enhancements for weekend work, shift work, bank holidays, sleep in shifts up to £19.26 at weekends. Full‑time equivalent salary £25,185 – £25,989 per annum, pro‑rata for part‑time 25 hours per week.

About The Role

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people who have a disability? We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible people who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want. The service provides short breaks for people with learning disabilities in purpose‑built accommodation. The support worker role involves all aspects of daily support, including supporting people to access activities and experiences in their local community, personal care, support with managing finance, administering medication, and ensuring people's needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes. The successful applicant will value others and have a person‑centred approach supporting people with dignity and respect.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support people with disabilities, including those with profound and complex needs, using person‑centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
  • Support people with dignity and respect in order to meet their day‑to‑day needs, including personal care supports.
  • Support individuals to access a range of opportunities and experiences, either from their own home or in a community setting, including swimming, walking, bowling, dancing, shopping, etc.
  • Work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service‑specific policies and practice guidelines at all times.

Skills And Experience

Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential – training will be provided. Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 at the time of appointment will be required to complete QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the first two years of employment (where applicable). This training will be funded by the Service.
