Help Shape Brighter Futures for Children and Families in Lancashire. We are looking for dedicated and caring individuals to join our Children & Families Service as Family Time Workers. This is a meaningful and rewarding opportunity to support children and young people during some of the most important moments in their lives—helping them stay connected with their families safely and positively.

Family Time is a vital part of the care journey for children who are looked after under Section 20, Interim Care Orders or are involved in care proceedings. Your role will be central in making sure these children have high‑quality, nurturing time with their parents and carers while longer-term decisions are made about their future.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and deliver supervised Family Time sessions.
  • Create environments where children and parents can build safe, meaningful relationships.
  • Collaborate with Social Workers and Senior Family Support Workers.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and planning.
  • Record accurate notes and observations.
  • Ensure safety and respond appropriately to emerging issues.
  • Build trusting relationships with children and families.
