Family Time Worker Part time – 3 days in South Ribble

Are you passionate about supporting children and families during some of the most important moments of their lives? As a part time (3 Days - 22.2 hours) Family Time Worker, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring children can safely maintain relationships with their parents and carers, helping shape brighter futures through meaningful connections.

You’ll support and supervise Family Time between children and their parents/carers during periods of separation, often within care proceedings. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where no two days are the same.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver safe, structured family time sessions
  • Create a supportive environment for positive family interactions
  • Observe sessions and produce clear, detailed recordings and assessments
  • Build trusting relationships with children, parents, and carers
  • Work closely with Social Workers to shape and review family time plans
  • Help identify emerging needs and support families to improve interactions
  • Set boundaries and confidently manage challenging situations
  • Support safe use of buildings and preparation of spaces for sessions

Your work directly contributes to better outcomes for children navigating complex and emotional situations.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A confident communicator who builds rapport quickly
  • Highly observant with strong attention to detail
  • Able to manage conflict professionally and calmly
  • Reflective, analytical, and professional in their judgment
  • A team player who can also work independently

Essential:

  • Level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working with children, families, or vulnerable individuals
  • Strong observation and recording skills
