Westwood Primary School is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant 2B to join our dedicated team. About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and pupils to support high-quality teaching and learning across the school. The role offers an opportunity to make a significant contribution to pupil progress and achievement while supporting the wider work of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Support class teachers and pupils in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1.
- Play a key role in delivering high-quality classroom support.
- Contribute meaningfully to raising standards across the school.

Contract Details
- Work pattern: 28.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday term time only.
- Hours allocation: 10 fixed hours and 18.75 variable hours.
- Weeks worked: 39 weeks per year, term time only, pro rata.
- Salary: Grade 5 (£25,989 - £28,142) – full‑time equivalent.
- Contract: Fixed term until 31 August 2027, possibility of extension after March 2027 budget review.

Qualifications
- Essential: NVQ Level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent) and Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.
- Desirable: First Aid.
Experience
- Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant within the Primary age range.
- Ability to work with and communicate clearly with children.
