Educational Psychologist (project)

Who You Are As an Educational Psychologist at Lancashire County Council, you have a solid background in psychology and child development, highlighted by your degree in psychology and possibly a postgraduate qualification in educational psychology. You’re working toward or already hold Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society and are either a registered or aspiring HCPC Practitioner Psychologist. Your experience since the enactment of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years, adds to your credibility. You excel in employing psychological expertise, consulting, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes in children’s education and well-being. Your interactions are marked by exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, underpinned by strong organizational capabilities. You possess enthusiasm, flexibility, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, utilizing your skills to manage and analyze complex information. With a deep understanding of the legislative framework and a dedication to safeguarding, you are driven by delivering customer-focused services. What the Job Involves In this role, you will use your psychology expertise to improve educational and developmental outcomes for children and young people in Lancashire, up to age 25. You will work in locations such as Accrington, Preston, or Lancaster, promoting collaboration with individuals, families, educational institutions, and regional partners. Key responsibilities include enhancing welfare, optimizing resources, supporting compliance with special educational needs regulations, and contributing to in-depth assessments. You will provide interventions, assist in developing service policies, and maintain comprehensive records. Participation in meetings, training, and data-driven projects is crucial to supporting the evolving priorities of local authorities. You’ll cultivate a dedication to ongoing professional growth, adhering to health, safety, and equal opportunity policies. Travel between sites requires a car unless adjustments are needed due to disability.
