Job Description

| Salary £39,513 – £44,711 Per Annum | Permanent, Full Time 37 Hours Per Week | West Lancashire – Skelmersdale |

Position Overview

We are recruiting for Deputy Managers within Lancashire County Council’s Residential Children’s Services as part of our “Where Our Children Live” programme. These roles focus on creating safe, supportive homes for Lancashire children and are a key part of our strategy to modernise and expand residential childcare across the county.

Deputy Managers will lead teams of Senior Residential Childcare Workers and Residential Childcare Workers, overseeing daily operations, care plans, health and educational outcomes, and maintaining external professional relationships. The role involves working closely with the Home Manager and participating in service projects, staff development, and multi-agency meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Providing leadership and supervision to residential teams.
  2. Ensuring the quality of care and compliance with regulations.
  3. Overseeing individual care plans and monitoring outcomes.
  4. Participating in reviews and multi-agency meetings.
  5. Supporting staff training and development.
  6. Contributing to service development initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to their well-being.
  • QCF 4 or NVQ 3 or 4 Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years\’ experience in Residential Children and Young People\’s Services or equivalent.
  • Driving license and access to a vehicle (essential car user).
