Overview
Delivery Centre Support Worker | Preston | Full time (temporary cover until 31.05.2026) – Early Help, Preston District.
Children and Family Wellbeing Service (CFW) are inviting applications for Delivery Centre Support Workers in our Central South district. The role involves working with children, young people and families (ages 0–19, up to 25 for young people with SEND) and being the first point of contact for families accessing our Family Hubs and centres, as well as a contact for multi-agency partners.
Salary: £24,404 – £25,183 (pro-rata) per annum | Grade 4.
Responsibilities
The Delivery Centre Support Worker will:
- Provide first point of contact for children, young people and families via Family Hubs and centres.
- Handle enquiries, answer calls, complete room booking requests and manage group work referrals and waiting lists.
- Maintain a warm, welcoming building environment and assist with room setup for meetings, courses and groups.
- Work with Neighbourhood and Community teams and facilities management to address maintenance or repair issues.
- Utilise IT systems including Microsoft Office and the Early Help Management Information system.
- Be prepared to work across various centres within the district as required.
- Participate in induction and training, with opportunities for professional development and progression.
What we are looking for
Enthusiastic, welcoming individuals with good IT skills and the ability to support children, young people and families in a community setting. You will be part of the wider Children and Family Wellbeing Team and contribute to enabling the right support, at the right place and time.
- Ability to use varied computer programmes (Microsoft Office, Early Help MIS).
- Willingness to travel within the district (car user desirable).
- DBS checked (Disclosures for caring for children) and other safeguarding requirements as applicable.
