As a Teaching Assistant Level 1, you'll work closely with dedicated teachers and therapists to support children and young people with special educational needs. From helping with classroom organisation to supporting pupils' personal and social development, every day will be rewarding and different.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with physical and emotional needs, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
  • Assisting in the use of specialist aids and equipment.
  • Helping pupils build independence and social skills.
  • Preparing classroom resources and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Accompanying pupils on school visits and activities.

Requirements / Desirable Qualifications:

  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to inclusive education.
  • A strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Flexible and eager to learn, with an understanding of confidentiality.
  • Willing to undertake training in areas such as First Aid and safeguarding.
  • Experience and a relevant childcare qualification are desirable, but enthusiasm, reliability, and readiness to make a positive impact are what matter most.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant Child Care Qualification (or equivalent).

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age.
