Astley Park School is seeking a reliable, proactive and committed Site Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This key role ensures the school environment is safe, clean, secure, and well‑maintained, supporting the best possible experience for pupils, staff and the wider community.

About the Role

Working under the direction of the Headteacher and senior leaders, you will contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school by undertaking a range of caretaking, cleaning, maintenance and security duties. The role is hands‑on, varied and vital to the life of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Opening and/or securing the school premises and acting as a key holder
  • Carrying out cleaning duties to a high standard
  • Undertaking minor repairs and basic DIY tasks
  • Monitoring site safety, cleanliness and maintenance needs
  • Supporting health and safety procedures, including routine checks
  • Preparing the school for events, lettings and out‑of‑hours activities
  • Responding to emergency situations, including call‑outs where required
  • Supporting and allocating tasks to cleaning staff where appropriate

Desirable Experience: Experience of undertaking manual tasks (e.g. maintenance, DIY etc), Experience of supervising staff, Experience of testing portable electrical equipment, Experience of security related duties.

Additional Information

  • Occasional evening or out‑of‑hours work may be required (e.g. lettings, events)
  • The role includes responsibility as a key holder and emergency call‑out response
  • Initial work hours: mornings (6:00 am – 12:30 pm); may change to afternoons (11:30 am – 6:00 pm) in the future
  • This is a part‑time, term‑time only role; salary quoted is full‑time equivalent and will be paid on a pro‑rata basis
  • A commitment to good attendance and reliability is essential
  • Annual leave will be allocated; role is a full‑year position
