Location: Lancashire County Hall, Fishergate, Preston, Lancashire, PR1 8XJ.

Salary: £97,330 – £106,628.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week.

Contract Type: Permanent.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Direct the work of the public health team.
  • Act as the strategic lead for the portfolio across Lancashire.
  • Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team within the council.
  • Collaborate with public health colleagues, council directorates, the Integrated Care Board, NHS, district councils and voluntary sector.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships and understand the context of services that impact health and health inequalities.

Service Focus:

  • Role 1 – Health Protection and Health Intelligence.
  • Role 2 – Health Improvement.

Requirements:

  • Registered with GMC / GDC Specialist Register / UK Public Health Register (UKPHR).
  • Proficient technical capability and proven system leadership.
  • Committed to tackling health inequalities.
  • Strong relationship‑managing and negotiation skills across diverse organisations.
  • Leadership ability to contribute to a dynamic public health team.
