We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Conference Technician Team Leader to join our dynamic Conference team. Based primarily at County Hall, Preston, this role involves travel to various sites across Lancashire and reports directly to the Business Development and Technical Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Room setups and equipment testing
- Supporting hybrid and webcast meetings
- Managing staging, lighting, video production, and live broadcasting
- Producing podcasts
- Delivering a high‑level conference and events service for both internal and external clients
In addition to technical capabilities, you’ll lead and supervise the day‑to‑day operations of our technical team, overseeing the delivery of meetings, conferences, and formal council committee sessions, ensuring all AV elements are executed to a high standard.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate records and producing technical guidance and reports
- Contributing to senior management discussions
- Collaborating closely with Digital Services colleagues to support AV infrastructure and hybrid meeting equipment installations
- Conducting quality checks on AV and webcast equipment
- Managing kit inventory across multiple locations
- Supporting high‑profile events across the county, which may require occasional travel
Strong verbal and written communication skills, confident interpersonal abilities, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving are essential for success in this role.
Please note: This role requires a valid UK driving licence and qualifies for essential car user status.
Working Hours
While the role primarily operates Monday to Friday, flexibility is required to support occasional evening and weekend events based on client and event needs.
