Female Community Support Worker – Nights

Location: Great Harwood

Contract Type: Permanent

Schedule Type: 1 x 23.33 hour

Salary: Grade 3 – £12.65 per hour + 25% enhancement for working nights + 33% weekend working

Max hourly rate at weekend – £19.99

We are recruiting 1 part-time Wake and Watch staff to provide overnight support for individuals who have learning disabilities and complex behaviour needs. Usual working hours will be 10pm until 8am. The role will include implementing the individual\’s night time support plan and other agreed activities. Successful candidates will be expected to be available to work days initially alongside experienced colleagues, and available to undertake training and team events, including probation, supervision and team meetings, during daytime working hours.

The Service supports people with learning/physical disabilities in Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Short Break Service.

The support worker role involves all aspects of support, including providing personal care, support with managing finance, administering medication and ensuring people\’s needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes.

The successful applicant will value others and have a person centred approach, supporting people with dignity and respect at all times.

You will be given a thorough induction to the role, and be well supported by an experienced management team.

Key Accountabilities

To support people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan

To support people with dignity and respect in order to meet their day to day needs

To work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service specific policies and practice guidelines at all times

Skills And Experience

Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential as you will be given the necessary support and training to undertake this role.

Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 at the time of appointment will be required to complete QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the first 2 years of employment. Care Certificate training is also provided . Please note all training will be funded by the Service.

The DBS check required for this post is provided free of charge.

This position is part time, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
