About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities? Lancashire County Council is seeking dedicated and compassionate Community Support Workers to join our Adult Disability Services team. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality support that respects the dignity and individuality of each person we assist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Person-Centred Support: Engage with individuals using person-centred approaches, ensuring their needs, preferences, and goals are at the forefront of all planning and support activities.
  • Community Integration: Help individuals develop links with their local community, encouraging participation in social, educational, and employment opportunities.
  • Daily Living Assistance: Provide support with daily living activities, including personal care, medication administration, and domestic tasks.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Assist in developing and implementing health action plans, risk assessments, and positive behavioural management strategies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including families, carers, and other support services, to ensure comprehensive and cohesive support.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection.

About You:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or the ability to demonstrate competence in supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Qualifications: While not essential, a QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Commitment to continuous professional development is essential.
