About The Role

We are a Day Service that provides high quality care and social opportunities to the people that we support, both in the day centre and the community. We pride ourselves on having a strong support team who work closely together to ensure that the people we support have the best day, while also ensuring their needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes.
The role of a Community Support Worker is rewarding and one where you know that every day you have had the opportunity to brighten someone’s day just by being your unique self. As a Community Support Worker, you will value others and have a person-centred approach to supporting people with dignity and respect.
All staff employed by LCC have 26 days of annual leave a year (pro rata), which increases to 32 days after 5 years, plus bank holidays, along with many other benefits. For further information and informal discussion please contact one of the day service Team Managers on 01772 535115.
Key Responsibilities
- To support people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person-centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
- To support people with dignity and respect in order to meet their day-to-day needs, including personal care supports.
- To support individuals to access a range of opportunities and experiences, including swimming, walking, bowling, dancing, shopping, art groups, cooking activities, and making new friendships.
- To work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service-specific policies and practice guidelines at all times.
Skills and Experience
Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential as you will be given the necessary support and training to undertake this role. Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 at the time of appointment will be required to complete QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (this training will be funded by the Service).
