Salary £25,185 – £25,989 per annum. Permanent, part‑time, 30 hours per week. International Sponsorship – This role is not open to international sponsorship.

Location: Great Harwood – a CQC Outstanding Service. Contract Type: Permanent. Schedule Type: 2 x 30 hour posts. Working Hours: Flexible rota to meet people’s needs. Salary – Grade 4 £12.85 to £13.47 per hour, plus enhancements for weekend work, shift work (assessed), bank holidays and sleep‑in shifts where relevant (max £19.26 at weekends).

About the Role

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people who have a disability? We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible people who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want. The Service provides short breaks for people with learning disabilities in purpose-built accommodation. The support worker role involves all aspects of daily support, including supporting people to access activities and experiences in the local community, personal care, support with managing finance, administering medication and ensuring people’s needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes. The successful applicant will value others and have a person‑centred approach supporting people with dignity and respect.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support people with disabilities, including those with profound and complex needs, using person‑centred approaches to enable them to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
  • Support people with dignity and respect to meet their day‑to‑day needs, including personal care supports.
  • Support individuals to access a range of opportunities and experiences, both from their own home and in the community setting, such as swimming, walking, bowling, dancing, shopping, etc.
  • Work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service‑specific policies and practice guidelines at all times.

Skills and Experience

Experience working with adults who have learning disabilities is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Applicants without NVQ Level 3 at appointment will be required to complete a QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the first two years of employment (training funded).
