Salary Range £25,185 - £25,989 per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | West Lancashire District Adult Disability Domiciliary Service

International Sponsorship: This role is not open to international sponsorship.

Incentives: 33% increment at weekends, 50% increment for Bank Hols & £38.55 sleep in allowance.

About The Role

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people who have a disability? We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible people who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want. The Service supports people with learning disabilities in their own homes 24 hours a day and involves Sleep in Duties and weekend work, for both of which you will receive an increment. The support worker role involves all aspects of daily support, including supporting people to access activities and experiences in their local community, personal care, support with managing finance, administering medication and ensuring people's needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes. The successful applicant will value others and have a person-centred approach supporting people with dignity and respect.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person-centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
  • Support people with dignity and respect to meet their day-to-day needs, including personal care support.
  • Support individuals to access a range of opportunities and experiences, either from their own home or in a community setting (e.g., swimming, walking, bowling, dancing, shopping).
  • Work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service-specific policies and practice guidelines at all times.

Skills And Experience

Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 at appointment will be required to complete a QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the first 2 years of employment (training funded by the Service).
