We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring, and committed Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive school team. This is a full-time position working 30 hours per week, supporting pupils across the school and working closely with teaching staff to help children achieve their full potential. We are open to appointing either a TA2b or TA3 candidate, depending on experience, qualifications, and the strengths of the successful applicant.

The role will involve supporting teaching and learning within the classroom, working with individuals and small groups of pupils, and helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Evidence of recent professional development relevant to supporting teaching and learning
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Desirable Qualifications

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Additional training or qualifications in SEND, speech and language, behaviour support, or intervention programmes
  • First Aid qualification
  • Experience or training in phonics programmes and/or early reading support

Essential Experience

  • Experience of working with children in a school or educational setting
  • Ability to support pupils effectively within the classroom and in small groups
  • Good communication skills
  • Organised, reliable and able to use initiative
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
  • Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting pupils’ wellbeing

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of delivering interventions or targeted support programmes
  • Confidence in supporting behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to adapt learning activities to meet pupils’ individual needs
  • Experience across different key stages
  • Knowledge of current educational practices and strategies to support learning
