Role Overview
The Cleaning Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control throughout Bowgreave Rise. This role combines hands-on cleaning duties with supervisory responsibilities to ensure the smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of the cleaning service.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning Duties
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks across allocated areas of the care home.
- Ensure all cleaning is completed to required standards, following infection control protocols.
- Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and in accordance with training and COSHH regulations.
- Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests when required.
- Supervisory & Operational Duties
- Manage stock levels, including monitoring usage and ensuring adequate supplies at all times.
- Complete stock ordering in line with company procedures.
- Manage staff annual leave, ensuring adequate cover and maintaining the cleaning rota.
- Ensure all mandatory paperwork and cleaning logs are completed accurately and on time by all staff.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, checks, training, incidents, and compliance documents.
- Support with staff training, coaching, and performance where required.
- Ensure all staff follow cleaning standards, health & safety requirements, and infection control policies.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns promptly.
Person Specification
- Essential
- Experience in a cleaning role, ideally within a care home or similar environment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader position.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and paperwork.
- Understanding of infection control and health & safety requirements.
- Good communication skills and a supportive leadership style.

- Knowledge of COSHH and relevant regulatory standards.
- Experience managing rotas or staff leave allocation.
