About The Role
Lancashire County Council’s Facilities Management Team is seeking to recruit a Mobile Cleaning Operative to provide cleaning and laundry services across a range of Care Homes and Day Centres within the Chorley and Leyland area. This role requires a flexible approach to work, as you will be expected to cover sickness and annual leave, as well as provide additional support during periods of increased service demand.
Key Responsibilities
- General cleaning tasks such as damp wiping, damp mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning of toilets and washrooms, communal areas, offices, corridors, and resident areas.
- Laundry duties including loading and unloading washing and drying machines.
- Rolling, pressing, and storing laundry items.
- Maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Person Specification
Essential
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Awareness of health and safety and infection‑control practices.
- Access to your own transport, as the role involves travelling between several buildings within a defined catchment area.
Desirable
- Previous cleaning or domestic experience.
- Experience in a care, or healthcare environment.
