Catering Assistant – St Bernard's Preston Lancashire County Council provides catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day. We are looking for committed individuals to join the service. You will work as part of a team at St Bernard's Catholic Primary School, Victoria Park Avenue, Lea, Preston PR2 1RP, providing high‑quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the dining area for service, including moving and setting up furniture and putting away.
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages.
  • Clean all equipment and catering areas.

What we are looking for

  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
  • Good customer care skills.
  • Previous catering and food preparation experience would be desirable.

Working Hours

Monday – Friday. Term time only. 10.00 hours per week, with variable hours depending on school meal uptake. Plus 4 cleaning days per year (outside term time).
