Catering Assistant – St Peters Primary School, Chorley

Salary £12.60 per hour | 7.5 hrs per week | Permanent

Lancashire County Council provide catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day. We are looking for committed individuals to join the service and work as part of a team at St Peters Primary School, providing high‑quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the dining area for service, including moving and setting up furniture and putting away.
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages.
  • Clean all equipment and catering areas.
What We Are Looking For
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
  • Good customer care skills.
  • Previous catering and food preparation experience would be desirable.

Working Hours / Days: Monday to Friday – Term time only, 7.5 hrs per week (1.5 hrs per day). Hours may vary depending on school meal uptake. This position is part time; the salary quoted is full‑time equivalent and will be paid on a pro‑rata basis.
