An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Residential Service, working as a Casual Residential Child Care Worker (CRCCW) within Evergreen Lodge Children's Residential short breaks homes. We support young people with severe learning disabilities, physical disabilities, complex health and behaviour issues, and Autism.

There are currently 3 Overnight Break Units which provide respite packages of care to Children with Disabilities. As a casual RCCW, you will be employed on an 'as and when needed basis'. The role of a CRCCW includes:

  • Assessing the needs of young people visiting Evergreen Lodge for short breaks.
  • Planning, implementing, and reviewing care plans alongside the staff team.
  • Supporting vulnerable children so that their social, emotional, intellectual, cultural, and physical needs are met.
  • Helping children reach their full potential.

Successful candidates must demonstrate an ability to build effective working relationships with children, show good teamwork skills, communication skills, and record keeping. They will also need to work with other agencies such as education, social workers, and health professionals in promoting the needs of the young people. CRCCWs also support children with transition to future placements.

The hours of work will include weekends, evenings, and, on occasion, an overnight sleep-in duty for which a sleep-in allowance will be paid. Our shift patterns are usually mornings 7am-11am or 3pm and evenings 2pm – 10pm. Due to the vulnerability of our children, PPE must be worn when supporting the children with personal care.
