About The Role
The Facilities Management Team at Lancashire County Council is seeking a Casual Cleaning Operative to perform cleaning duties across various buildings at Lancaster University campus.
A flexible approach to work is essential, as the successful candidate will cover sickness, holidays, and support additional service demands. Having your own transport is advantageous but not required.
Lancaster University relies on the Facilities Management team to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across campus facilities, supporting students, staff, and visitors. Your role as a cleaner is vital in ensuring these standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and toilet cleaning.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Conduct deep cleaning of bedrooms, including floors, furniture, and fixtures.
- Ensure safe use and storage of cleaning equipment and materials.
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Previous cleaning experience is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
