About The Role
If you are highly motivated, friendly and supportive with excellent administrative, communication and customer care skills then this post is for you. This role provides key administrative, clerical, and financial support for the day-to-day operation of Judges Lodgings Museum, including cashing up, banking and processing orders for shop stock and equipment. It includes inputting financial and management information as required and requires higher level text processing, spreadsheet and IT skills. It also provides accurate general advice and guidance to the public, colleagues and the Friends. The role involves the administration of group bookings, events and liaising with the Heritage Learning Team over school bookings. Also supporting the front of house operations which can include opening and closing the site, operating the till, dealing with visitors, and assisting with events and promotion.
Responsibilities
- Provide key administrative, clerical and financial support for daily museum operations.
- Cash handling, banking, and processing orders for shop stock and equipment.
- Input financial and management information; use higher level text processing, spreadsheet and IT skills.
- Offer accurate general advice and guidance to the public, colleagues and the Friends.
- Administer group bookings and events; liaise with the Heritage Learning Team regarding school bookings.
- Support front of house operations including opening/closing the site, operating the till, assisting visitors, and supporting events and promotion.
Details
This is a 1-year temporary post from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, based at Judges Lodgings Museum. The hours are 18.5 per week, normally Tuesday, Wednesday and half-day Thursday, with days open to further discussion.
