Job Summary: St John’s Catholic Primary School are looking to appoint an Apprentice Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide teaching and learning support within our Early Years Team, based in our Reception Class. The post is an apprenticeship so will include self and supported study alongside the working day. East Lancashire Learning Group (formally Nelson & Colne College) will be your academic support. They will visit you and assess you throughout your course. The successful candidate will be working across our EYFS department with children aged between 3 and 5 years.

To be an Apprentice Early Years Educator in our EYFS team, you must be friendly, self-motivated, nurturing, have a positive attitude, and be prepared to learn and work collaboratively within our team. You will be expected to work alongside the teacher and the team in a collaborative way, to develop the children’s knowledge and understanding of the world and create a safe environment for learning. You will assist with the delivery and evaluation of the curriculum and its differentiation amongst pupils.

Essential Qualifications: GCSE in Maths and English (minimum grade C/grade 4).

Desirable Qualifications: Paediatric First Aid.

Essential Experience: Has recent, relevant experience of working with EYFS aged children.

Desirable Experience: Able to build excellent relationships with children, staff and parents. Is calm, patient and nurturing. Is resilient, committed and flexible.
