Shared Lives Officer - Grade 9 - Full time/Permanent position - East Lancashire / base Venice Avenue in Burnley
An opportunity has arisen for a grade 9 officer post to join the Lancashire CQC registered shared lives service, a unique type of care model for adults who predominantly have a learning disability/difficulty or other vulnerability. Unlike other schemes, people move into a family home with their carer, sharing their family life. The service is rated as 'Outstanding' with CQC.
The job role will involve managing part of the team responsible for the monitoring of placements, ensuring individuals in the scheme are well supported and that carers are providing effective care meeting CQC requirements. You will need excellent communication skills, the ability to lead a team, and experience ideally of working in the care sector. You must be a good problem solver and able to work with minimal supervision.
You will have a passion for working with vulnerable people, you will champion values such as dignity, respect, choice, control and positive risk taking. You will also have good leadership skills and the ability to motivate and influence others through collaborative working. You will be closely linked to day-to-day operations providing advice/guidance to Shared Lives Officers in all areas of their role.
You will play a part in the assessment process of new carers and may be required to help deliver training in the scheme.
