Service: Children’s Services – Early Help Service.

Salary: Β£36,363 – Β£40,777 per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week.

Are you passionate about making a difference for children, young people, and families? We are looking for a Senior Family Support Worker to join our Early Help Service in West Lancashire. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support frontline teams delivering high-quality early help interventions.

About The Role

As a Senior Family Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of frontline staff (typically 5–10 direct reports).
  • Deliver targeted early help support through one of three key service themes:
  • Intensive Support – Whole-family casework for complex needs.
  • Neighbourhood Support – Overseeing group programmes and family time provision.
  • Community Support – Working with schools and partners to coordinate early interventions.
  • Manage resources, monitor performance, and ensure high standards of practice.
  • Work collaboratively with partners to improve outcomes for children and families.
  • What We’re Looking For

    • Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
    • Substantial experience in early help services and supervising staff.
    • Strong understanding of thresholds, evidence-based interventions, and multi-agency working.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
