Role Overview
Attendance is a top priority in education and we have an exciting opportunity to join the School Attendance Support Team at Lancashire County Council. We are seeking a School Attendance Support Worker to provide vital advice and guidance for schools and families around attendance. In Lancashire, our school attendance largely aligns with the national average, but we aim to exceed it. The role ensures schools have the right strategies to support children and families who face barriers to attendance. Our committed team collaborates with a wide range of professionals to ensure the Local Authority meets responsibilities in line with 'Working Together to Improve School Attendance'.
Key Responsibilities
- The role involves organising and leading meetings with senior school leadership.
- Coordinating partnerships between schools, families and wider services.
- Using data sources to monitor attendance.
- Meeting with senior leaders to discuss attendance matters and support pupils and families facing barriers.
