What You'll Be Doing:
- As an Apprentice Library Assistant, you'll support the delivery of a high-quality library and information service. This includes:
- Assisting customers with accessing digital resources and information.
- Supporting in the planning and delivery of events (e.g. author events, class visits).
This is a temporary 2-year role, working an average of 37 hours per week. This will include some evenings and weekends, over a two-week rota.
What We’re Looking For:
Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this. You will have excellent communication and digital skills, be able to work with a range of stakeholders and be able to deliver a customer focused service. As an apprentice, you will work with a team in offering a high-quality library and information service and you will support the planning and the delivery of a diverse range of events and activities. You will support and encourage customers to access online information and resources, for example accessing free eBooks and newspaper apps or helping someone find reliable information, such as applying for a passport. Sometimes, you will need to work at other locations, and the role may involve some lone working.
