Lancashire Constabulary is seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Team Leader, based at Hutton HQ, to oversee the day‑to‑day operation of our catering facilities. This key role supports officers, staff, and visitors by ensuring the consistent delivery of high‑quality, safe, and nutritious meals in a demanding and fast‑paced environment. You will lead, motivate, and develop a kitchen team while maintaining excellence in hygiene, food safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work from HQ as primary role and cover leave for Kitchen Team Leaders at our DHQs as secondary role
  • Support the Catering Services Supervisor with menu planning and ensure stock levels follow stock control sheets
  • Prepare meals and services at required times, following agreed methods, portion controls and performance/quality targets
  • Ensure sufficient hot and cold food provisions during service times within the unit
  • Lead and inspire catering assistants to maximise performance and wellbeing

Skills And Experience

  • Hold a Food Hygiene and Safety qualification (Level 3)
  • Hold a valid full Manual UK Driving License and willing to undertake and pass the Constabulary Basic Driver Assessment before driving a Constabulary vehicle
  • Experience of line management, including managing, motivating and developing staff to nurture a highly skilled team

Vetting And Medical

As a condition of appointment, you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). You must meet a minimum 3‑year UK residency requirement and be at least 18 years old at application. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment. The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the attached rota.
