Lancashire Constabulary is looking for an Occupational Health Technician to join our team. In this role you will be working in a busy environment to undertake a variety of routine medical screening tests to a strict timetable, as well as providing administrative support to the wider Occupational Health Team. Occupational Health provides a wide range of services to employees across the Constabulary, from the very first stages of recruiting medical, right through to ill‑health retirement. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a multi‑disciplinary team and a very busy office environment – the role is varied with no two days being the same. Every day we deal with internal and external enquiries by telephone, correspondence, and personal face‑to‑face contact, so it is very important to be a people person.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake various medical screening tests as part of recruitment campaigns and medical assessments, as directed by, and under the supervision of, the Practice (Triage) Manager.
  • To undertake various medical screening tests as part of routine medical assessments on police officers and police staff in specialised roles, either in the Occupational Health Unit or in Division.
  • To undertake wellbeing initiatives in Divisions and Departments.
  • To ensure that any abnormal results and recordings are referred to the appropriate person as and when required.

Skills And Experience

  • NVQ level 3 Health care with at least 2 years’ experience (or equivalent demonstrable competence).

Vetting And Medical

To be appointed you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV) and meet the following conditions: minimum 3 years UK residency; must be 18 years old; successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
