Lancashire Constabulary is looking for Criminal Justice Administration Assistants to join our team. If you have a positive attitude, a good level of general education, IT skills and are able to act on your initiative then this is an exciting opportunity to join the Lancashire Constabulary Criminal Justice Prosecutions Unit as an administrator. The purpose of the role is to deliver professional, efficient and effective corporate administrative support in relation to criminal justice matters. CJ administrators cover a variety of functions and play a vital role in supporting police officers and ensuring that timely and accurate information is available to them and other agencies.
You will be confident navigating computer systems and will process incoming queries and information from a variety of different sources in a professional and expedient manner. You must be effective in prioritising workloads. You will be required to utilise various systems and should have experience of using Microsoft software applications including Excel and Word (training will be given).
Key Responsibilities- Work in a multifunctional team to deliver cost‑effective criminal justice administrative processes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, corporate standard procedure manuals and policy agreements, whilst successfully managing demand to achieve and sustain the required performance levels.
- Contribute to the development of efficient corporate systems and processes in relation to criminal justice procedures, particularly in relation to criminal justice administration.
- Provide advice and guidance to staff, officers and other departments in relation to the submission and content of prosecution files, in all cases emphasising the need to focus on a ‘right first time approach’.
- Closely monitor adherence to procedural and legal requirements, Home Office initiatives and Service Level Agreements with other agencies and departments; take prompt action to address non‑compliance by the most appropriate method, highlighting to supervision as appropriate.
As a condition of appointment, applicants must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). There is a minimum 3‑year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and applicants must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment. Candidates successful at shortlisting will be required to undertake an assessment as part of the interview process; this will consist of psychometric tests.
