Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Treatment Room service in the Greater Preston and Chorley South Ribble areas.

If you are able to work autonomously, you are motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic then come and join our team of dedicated treatment room nurses.

The Treatment Room service currently operates from Monday to Friday excluding weekends and bank holidays. We are an appointment only service between the hours of 08.30 and 16.30 however we do hold 2 late evening clinics (up to 8pm) and one early clinic (8am start) once a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly over 5 days, be able to work well within a team and on their own initiative.

The Treatment Room provides care to patients with acute/chronic wounds, post-operative wound assessment, removal of sutures and clips, intra-muscular injections, lower limb assessments, compression bandaging and ear irrigation.

Responsibilities

The post holder will possess a wide range of clinical skills working as a registered nurse participating in all aspects of nursing care within treatment rooms including nurse led services. They will provide a high standard of clinical/nursing care and assist in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. They will undertake extended roles as appropriate to treatment room and the services provided. They will participate in a range of clinical and service audits within treatment room. They will comply with all policies and protocols relating to treatment room.

The post holder will assist in the delivery of the objectives set out within the Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust business plan.

The role requires a wide range of clinical skills and the ability to work within treatment rooms and nurse led services. A commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team are essential.

Service context

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care. The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
