LSCFT adult mental health inpatient services aim to meet the holistic needs of service users while they recover from their mental illness. This role supports the clinical team to provide a meaningful and therapeutic day for service users.
Responsibilities
- You will plan, coordinate, and deliver an activity programme tailored to the needs of service users.
- You will work rotational shifts covering weekdays, evenings and weekends to enable activity to be offered outside of 9am-5pm.
- Plan, co‑coordinate and deliver a range of group and individual activities across 7 days and into the evenings.
- Motivate and encourage service users to identify and engage in activities.
- Develop additional skills and working relationships with other colleagues and organisations.
- Establish and maintain rapport with patients, carers, relatives and visitors.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of community resources and support users to develop links for continued engagement.
- Liaise with Occupational Therapy staff to provide a prioritised service during periods of workload or staffing difficulties.
Qualifications
- We are looking for individuals who have experience in mental health or physical health services or the wider NHS.
- Can work independently and under initiative.
- Show a keen commitment to developing relationships and expanding recreational opportunities.
- Are willing to undertake development support provided by LSCFT.
- Have an unrestricted right to work in the UK for the duration of the role.
