Overview
The Skylark ward, Avondale Unit, RPH, is an 11‑bedded specialist inpatient unit for older adults offering 24‑hour service, 7 days a week. We invite applications for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager / Team Leader to support this high‑intensity, fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead a team of registered nurses and support workers in the delivery of mental health care. • Promote the interests of service users and ensure delegated nursing care is implemented safely.
• Exercise professional accountability and responsibility using skills, knowledge and expertise across professional boundaries and in unfamiliar situations. • Use research, audit, enquiry and scholarship to plan, implement and evaluate concepts and strategies that improve care. • Work shifts covering 24 hours, seven days a week, and manage the unit’s operation throughout.
