About the Service
Fylde Coast RITT is an Older Adults Community Mental Health Crisis service based at the Lytham Unit, Lytham hospital. We are a 7‑day a week service with operating hours from 8am to 8pm. We are a multidisciplinary team, working closely with other health departments, social services and voluntary agencies. Our service users can present with functional and organic mental health difficulties, often combined with complex social care and physical health needs.
Role Overview
As a senior occupational therapist, the post holder will support the delivery of community services through assessment, treatment, planning and delivery of evidence‑based occupational therapy interventions. They will draw on specialist knowledge of the relationship between occupation and mental health to maintain, restore or create a beneficial match between the individual's abilities, their occupational demands in self‑care, productivity and leisure, and environmental demands. The role requires delivering individual and group interventions, prioritising people whose mental health problems severely affect occupational functioning and who have complex occupational needs. This senior position balances specialist occupational therapy provision with shared roles that enhance team efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
Having substantial experience, specialist interest and expertise in mental health occupational therapy is required. The post holder must demonstrate sophisticated clinical reasoning skills, and deep understanding of how occupational demands interact with mental health.
