Overview
A Vacancy at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. Part time - 15 hours per week. Main Base: East Barn, Lancaster (with satellite bases in Blackpool and South Cumbria). North Lancashire & South Cumbria Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Team (SPCMHT) covers a wide footprint including Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre, Lancaster and South Cumbria. We are seeking applications from confident and enthusiastic professionals who hold RMN/Social Work/Occupational Therapy registrations and are passionate about working in a perinatal service with experience in a mental health care coordination role. Post holders will carry out specialist assessments of women referred into the service and manage an allocated caseload alongside senior clinicians, delivering high quality care. We welcome applications from all genders and, although advantageous, there is no requirement to have previous perinatal experience, as training will be provided. The team supports flexible working and offers training and development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Carry out specialist assessments of women referred into the service.
- Hold an allocated caseload and work alongside senior clinicians to deliver high quality care.
- Act as Lead Practitioner in partnership with service users and other professionals within the Care Programme Approach.
- Co-ordinate complex packages of care for mother and infant.
- Work as an autonomous senior clinician with accountability for a defined caseload.
- Support, supervise and contribute to professional development of staff in perinatal mental health.
- Participate in mentorship, education and supervision of students from various disciplines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered with RMN / Social Work / Occupational Therapy.
- Experience in mental health and care coordination; perinatal experience is not mandatory as training is provided.
- Ability to work within the Nursing and Midwifery Council / British Association of Occupational Therapists frameworks, with understanding of service usersβ legal rights.
