Responsibilities:
- Be a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry and become a leading member of the well-established, inpatient, multi-disciplinary team based on Ribble Ward.
- Participate on the Consultant On Call rota, for which additional remuneration is payable.
- Ribble Ward is a male inpatient ward with 14 beds; the Consultant Psychiatrist will plan appropriate treatment and intervention for each patient on the ward.
- Carry out assessment and treatment planning for new patients and existing ward patients within an MDT structure.
Eligibility and Qualifications:
- Full GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register of the GMC, or eligibility for entry to the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date.
- Section 12 approved at the time of commencing employment and have, or be eligible to have, Approved Clinician Status.
- Remuneration will be as set out in the terms of the new Consultant contract according to previous experience.
Role Details:
- The post is full time (10 PAs).
- Royal Blackburn Hospital has good transport links to Preston and other parts of Lancashire.
- For those using public transport, there are regular services to Preston and other areas of East Lancashire.
